A portion of South Broadway in Denver will close Friday night for a partial Interstate 25 on-ramp bridge placement as part of a larger street improvement project.
Both sides of Broadway will be closed between Mississippi and Exposition avenues from 7 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday, Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure announced Tuesday. The Interstate 25 southbound ramp at Broadway also will be closed.
A detour will be in place on Alameda Avenue, University Boulevard and Louisiana Avenue. Drivers needing to get onto Interstate 25 should use alternate ramps such as those at Alameda or Mississippi avenues, Santa Fe Drive/Kalamath Street and University Boulevard, DOTI said.
DOTI crews will be setting girders for a new Interstate 25 southbound on-ramp over Broadway, which is part of the larger project in the area that will create a new RTD Park-n-Ride entrance, reconstruct local streets to improve traffic flow, extend the bikeway to provide access to the I-25 and Broadway RTD station and extend multi-use pathways on local streets.
