The body of a 47-year-old man was recovered at Chatfield Reservoir Tuesday, according to Jefferson County Sheriff’s officials.
South Metro Fire Rescue crews responded to a water rescue at Chatfield State Park in Littleton around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a post from the fire department on social media.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers and Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies also responded to the water rescue, the fire department said.
Around 9:15 a.m., the water rescue turned into a body recovery and death investigation after a man was spotted face-down in the water, according to a statement from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The body of a 47-year-old man was later recovered. The body had no signs of trauma and the cause of death is undetermined at this time, according Jefferson County Sheriff’s spokesperson Jacki Kelley.
