Nuggets signing Stanford’s Spencer Jones to two-way contract, source says

The Nuggets are signing Stanford’s Spencer Jones as their last two-way contract, a league source told The Denver Post.

Jones has been on the Portland Trail Blazers’ Summer League roster this week in Las Vegas. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 11.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game last season for the Cardinal. In a five-year college career, he shot 39.7% from 3-point range on 5.4 attempts per game, offering a combination of size and shooting that Denver found appealing.

The Nuggets have now used all three of their two-way spots for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Jones will join Clemson’s PJ Hall and Creighton’s Trey Alexander, both of whom have been playing on Denver’s Summer League team coached by Andrew Munson. Alexander was one of Denver’s standout performers throughout the week.

With free agent guard Russell Westbrook expected to soon sign with the Nuggets, and DeAndre Jordan’s re-signing also on the horizon, it is likely the front office is done adding players to the roster for now.
