Two people were taken to the hospital after a rollover crash sent two vehicles down an embankment on eastbound Interstate 70 near Eisenhower Tunnel, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Eastbound Interstate 70 was closed for nearly four hours Sunday morning so road crews could retrieve two vehicles that went off the road and down an embankment, said Trooper Gabriel Moltrer.
The crash was reported at 6:18 a.m. near mile marker 216, which is just east of the Eisenhower Tunnel.
The highway was closed between exit 205 for U.S. 6/Silverthorne and exit 216 for U.S. 6/Loveland Pass and reopened at 10:05 a.m., Colorado Department of Transportation officials said in a travel alert.
