Deion Sanders on remaining tickets for CU Buffs’ opener vs. North Dakota State. “What (are) they waiting on? Let’s go.”

BOULDER — The Buffs’ second home opener under Coach Prime isn’t a prime-time sellout. Yet.

“A few tickets (are) still remaining for North Dakota State,” CU football coach Deion Sanders announced at the start of his news conference Saturday. “(We’re) going to sell it out. So, what (are) they waiting on? Let’s go.”

The Buffs open their 2024 campaign on Thursday night at 6 against the Bison, nine-time Football Championship Subdivision national champs, in a matchup televised nationally by ESPN.

CU sold out its entire 2023 home football slate after a 3-0 start.

That undefeated run included wins over Nebraska and Colorado State at Folsom. CU’s home tilts with the Huskers, both Folsom Field openers, were sold out in 2019 and 2023.

Home openers against UNC in 2021 (44,153 announced) and New Hampshire in 2018 (42,360) didn’t sell out. The Bears and Wildcats, like North Dakota State, are members of the FCS.

Seats available via the secondary market won’t come cheap. As of Saturday morning, the least expensive “get-in” single ticket for CU-NDSU was $107, including fees.
