A 36-year-old man was killed in a shooting in the 18000 block of East Kentucky Avenue on Tuesday night, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Blas Anthony Nieto was identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office on Thursday. He died as a result of a gunshot wound and his death was ruled a homicide, according to a news release.

Aurora police responded to a call about an injured man at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Tollgate Overlook neighborhood and found a man, later identified as Nieto, with an apparent gunshot wound.

Nieto was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead early Wednesday morning, according to the department.
