Interstate 25 is reopened in both directions between Wellington and Colorado’s northern border after a 13-hour closure for extreme winds, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Traffic was permitted on the roadway around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
At 11 p.m. on Saturday, the highway was temporarily closed between the exit for Colorado 1 — about 6 miles north of Fort Collins — and the Wyoming State Line.
Powerful winds — and some gusts reaching up to 100 mph — are expected to continue through Sunday at noon, according to the National Weather Service.
