One man is dead after an overnight motorcycle crash near East Colfax Avenue and North Moline Street, according to the Aurora Police Department.
Aurora police were called to the scene of the crash around 1:44 a.m. Sunday morning, according to an Aurora Police news release.
The motorcycle driver was found in the roadway suffering life-threatening injuries which he did not survive, police said.
The crash involved the motorcycle, a Ford SUV and a white SUV that left the scene, police said.
The motorcycle was headed west on East Colfax Avenue when the white SUV turned left from East Colfax Avenue onto North Moline Street, in front of the motorcycle, the police said. To avoid crashing into the white SUV, the motorcycle driver veered into the eastbound lanes of East Colfax Avenue and was struck by the Ford SUV.
The driver of the white SUV left the scene and has not yet been identified, police said.
The driver of the Ford SUV remained on scene and has been cooperative, police said.
The victim has yet to be identified as authorities work to notify next-of-kin.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dash-cam footage of the incident to contact the Aurora Police Traffic Section.
