One dead, several injured in overnight crashes across Denver metro area

A man was killed in Thornton and several people were injured in crashes overnight across the Denver metro area.

The man in Thornton was one of two men involved in a single-vehicle crash in the 10500 block of Riverdale Road, Thornton police said about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle was headed south when the crash occurred. The first man died at the scene and the other man was transported to a hospital with “serious injuries.”

Farther down the metro in Aurora, a motorcycle and car crashed on Chambers Road near Parker Road about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, Aurora police said.

The motorcyclist had serious injuries, and the other driver is being cooperative, police said.

And in Denver, a person on a stand-up scooter was injured when a driver hit the person in Five Points at the intersection of Park Avenue West and California Street, Denver police said about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured, police said, and they did not say how bad the scooter operator was injured.
