Two Parker men died Wednesday evening in a multi-vehicle crash in Douglas County.
The crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Crowfoot Valley Road just north of Macanta Boulevard, about one mile north of Founders Parkway, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash and the two people who died, Adam Reihl, 34, and Michael Reed, 49, were in the same vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
Reihl was driving north on Crowfoot and his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane where it struck the side of one vehicle, and then collided with another southbound vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office. An investigation is ongoing. Preliminary findings indicate that excessive speed and substandard tires were factors in the crash.
On Wednesday Reihl was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Reed, his passenger, died at the scene.
The road was shut down in the area for about five hours for emergency responders and investigators.
