Colorado man among 23 suspects arrested in Georgia facing domestic terror charges

A Colorado man is among 23 suspects arrested in Georgia facing domestic terrorism charges after protestors attacked a police training center under construction outside Atlanta.

Ehret Nottingham, 22, of Colorado, is among the group of suspects who have been arrested, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

On Sunday, “a group of violent agitators used the cover of a peaceful protest of the proposed Atlanta Public Safety Training Center to conduct a coordinated attack on construction equipment and police officers,” Atlanta police said.

Rocks, bricks, Molotov cocktails and fireworks were thrown and launched at officers, police said. Construction equipment was damaged or destroyed by fire and vandalism.

In January, 26-year-old Manuel Esteban Paez Terán, or “Tortuguita,”  was fatally shot by officers during a protest at the site known as “Cop City,” according to the Associated Press. Almost all of the 23 people arrested are from states across the U.S., while one is from Canada and another from France.
