Three earthquakes were recorded in southern Colorado Friday morning, including a pair near Silverton in San Juan County where rumblings and a loud noise were reported.
The 3.6 magnitude earthquake happened about 7 a.m. Friday, according to the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office, and it was felt in the town of Ophir in the San Juan Mountains. A second quake, 2.2 magnitude, was recorded about 8 a.m., with no injuries or damage reported.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 4.3 magnitude earthquake at 6:06 a.m. Friday northeast of Segundo, in Las Animas County west of Trinidad. The quake was 6.3 kilometers in depth.
