A New York woman has been arrested and is charged with threatening LGBTQ businesses in Denver and Glendale.
Sharon Robinson, 40, allegedly called at least four businesses just a few weeks after the November 2022 Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs and made threatening comments based on sexual orientation, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Colorado, news release.
Robinson allegedly made various threatening comments, including to “shoot your bar up” and “you’re gonna be shot up like Club Q,” the release said. The threats also included anti-LGBTQ slurs.
A grand jury indicted Robinson, “finding that the defendant intentionally selected her victims because of their actual and perceived sexual orientation,” according to prosecutors.
The case is being investigated by the FBI, Denver Police Department and Glendale Police Department. Robinson was scheduled to appear in court in Brooklyn on Wednesday.
Five people were killed, and 22 injured, in the Nov. 19, 2022, attack at the LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs.
