A “minor” died in on the Colorado River Saturday when a boat capsized and the victim was separated from family, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said.
The sheriff’s office received a call about 11 a.m. and emergency responders searched the river between Burns and McCoy, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
“Responders were able to recover a minor from the river who was not responsive to CPR efforts,” the release said.
The minor was wearing a personal flotation device and the cause of death will be determined by the Eagle County Coroner’s Office. Multiple area agencies responded to the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
